Reasons you'll enjoy Wavecrest if you are ever in San Diego in September

It isn't possible we're likely to see anyone else from the good old days of hot rodding making palm frond shady hats... only photos in old Hot Rod magazines from the early 1950's Above, my favorite car trophy Above, the trunk is for all the normal stuff he carries around but didn't want to be out in the open, detracting from the old hot rod aesthetic Triple the cool factor, Plymouth, woodie, and

Cool interior design pieces

Chrome and woodgrain contrast

Some great looking woodies

On top of this International is something I hadn't seen before, it's a paddle board. I couldn't find anything on the web about original style boards like this. Not sure why they have the clothes varnished...

Compare two interiors, one was restored with a minimalist approach, the other has been let go for decades

I saw the two cars with the same gauges, and wonder why someone went to the trouble of outlining thier gauges in this odd fashion (top set)

There is a consistant wavy pattern to the way these numbers are outlined, and I didn't realize it wasn't factory until I came across the 2nd Merc and took photos of it's gauges for contrast These (below) are a little harder to see, as the windows to this car weren't open enough for me to get better photos

One of less than a dozen known Packard Station Wagons, the best of the known restored ones, a 1940 Packard 110

Ever seen a woody Fire Truck? I hadn't until Wavecrest. Here's a Dodge Powerwagon

The above is good wallpaper.

1925 "Telephone booth" Model T woody at Wavecrest

Diamond in the rough... a project woodie shows the bare bones of what is under the varnished grain of complete woodies
